Dizziness, Vertigo, and Imbalance

Dizziness, Vertigo, and Imbalance
If you’re dealing with dizziness, vertigo, imbalance, or just an unexplained “off” sensation, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to navigate it on your own. These symptoms can be disorienting and may increase your risk of falls, even if you’re otherwise healthy and active.

It’s common for people experiencing sudden dizziness or vertigo to seek help at urgent care or the emergency room. In many cases, they are evaluated to rule out serious conditions like a stroke, then sent home with medications such as Meclizine. While this can provide temporary relief, it often doesn’t address the underlying issue—particularly when the root cause is vestibular in nature.

At Harmony Physical Therapy, we specialize in vestibular rehabilitation to help people manage and recover from dizziness and balance challenges caused by conditions such as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), vestibular neuritis, post-concussion syndrome, migraine-associated vertigo, persistent postural-perceptual dizziness (3PD), and vestibular hypofunction.

Our approach is evidence-based and personalized. Using infrared video goggles, we assess subtle eye movements that help us better understand the cause of your symptoms. These goggles are more accurate than traditional observation methods and are considered best practice for evaluating vestibular function. This advanced technology helps us identify whether the issue stems from the inner ear (peripheral vestibular system) or something more central, and then tailor treatment accordingly.

Indepth Vestibular assessment and treatment

Vestibular therapy at Harmony PT involves guided exercises, movement training, and gradual exposure to the positions or activities that provoke your symptoms. Depending on your diagnosis, some patients feel significantly better in just a few visits, while others benefit from longer-term support. We work at your pace and adjust the plan based on how you respond.

Our goal is to help you feel steadier, more confident, and better able to return to your daily life—whether that means walking without fear of falling, resuming physical activity, or just feeling more grounded.

If dizziness or imbalance is interfering with your life, schedule an appointment today to learn how vestibular therapy at Harmony PT can help you move forward with confidence.
