Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy for Postpartum Recovery

At Harmony Physical Therapy, we understand that healing after birth is not one-size-fits-all. Whether you’ve recently delivered or it’s been years, our postpartum care is here to support your recovery—physically and emotionally.

Pelvic pain, low back discomfort, incontinence, prolapse, diastasis recti, or pain with intimacy are common after childbirth, but that doesn’t mean they’re “normal” or something you just have to live with. These symptoms deserve attention, and you deserve care that helps you feel more like yourself again.

We recognize how easy it is for moms to put their own health on hold. Between newborn care, sleepless nights, and family demands, prioritizing recovery often gets pushed aside. And too often, women are told these symptoms are expected or dismissed when they seek help. At Harmony, we listen—without judgment—and work together to address what you’re experiencing.

We also support new moms dealing with clogged milk ducts—a painful and frustrating issue that can interfere with nursing. Gentle manual therapy and lymphatic techniques can often help relieve discomfort, promote drainage, and reduce the risk of complications like mastitis.

Whether you had a vaginal delivery or a C-section, your body has been through significant change. We provide individualized care to support scar healing, improve core and pelvic floor strength, reduce discomfort, and help you return to the activities you love—safely and confidently.

It’s never too early—or too late—to seek support. We’ve helped patients a few weeks postpartum and others decades out from childbirth. The healing process is always possible with the right approach and a team that truly understands postpartum recovery.

In an ideal world, we’d love to see you between 2–4 weeks postpartum to check in on healing, and typically begin internal pelvic floor assessments once you’ve been medically cleared by your OB or midwife—usually around 6 weeks.

You deserve to feel strong, supported, and at home in your body. Schedule an appointment today and let us help you navigate postpartum recovery with confidence.
